Homemade Extracts

Making homemade extracts is super easy but it takes patience. All you need is 3 ingredients- alcohol, the flavoring agent and time  a lot of time. The longer it sits, the more complex the flavor becomes. I’ve found, that for best results, you need to let it soak about 3 months. You will be able to tell when your extracts are ready by smelling them. The wait is well worthwhile. I love to keep a variety on hand for baking and making holiday cocktails. They make amazing gifts during the holidays, especially for house parties. Here are my 3 favorites to try: Almond, Vanilla and Lemon.
