Cranberry Apple Sauce

From Thanksgiving to Hanukkah (for us!) this is the perfect all-around sauce to grace our holiday table. We will be serving this slow cooked apple sauce with latkes tonight, but it’s delicious with your favorite holiday roast or just on its own. Beautiful fresh cranberries are still in abundance at the market. By slow cooking this sauce, I am able to eliminate all the sugar to create a naturally sweetened, luscious nutrient-dense sauce. My children don’t like the traditional cranberry sauce, but they love this!

Cranberry apple sauce

INGREDIENTS

4 apples
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 cinnamon stick
3 dates

DIRECTIONS

Add all ingredients to slow cooker and cook for about 6 hours on low heat.
